This series of pages will provide assistance
in regard to the HST. Under the new tax scheme,
the current provincial
sales tax (PST) and federal sales tax
(GST) are being replaced with a Harmonized Sales
Tax (HST) which will, in
British Columbia, amount to 12% on purchases.
The HST exists in Atlantic Canada provinces
of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland
Labrador
and is being introduced in the province
of Ontario. British Columbia will have the lowest
HST in Canada.
Most other provinces are taxing at 13%
while Nova Scotia is now charging 15%.
The HST will be administered by the Canadian
Revenue Agency.
Learn
more about the HST and how it will work for
British Columbia.
The topics on the left will provide you
with additional information about the HST and
how it applies in
British Columbia.

the HST?
